Serbian word: chakija or cakija?

I'm translating an English text in which a few Serbian words are used. One
of these is 'chakija'.
I gather that a chakija is a type of curved knife typical of the Balkans.
But when I looked it up on the Internet and Usenet, I got the impression
that the spelling 'cakija' is used far more often than 'chakija'.
Does anyone know if these are just two variant spellings that are both used
in (Bosnian/) Serbian?
Or is the correct (Serbian) spelling actually 'cakija', and would the
author maybe have added the H to give a cleare indication to English
readers how the initial consonant ought to be pronounced?

As you suggested, letter "h" has been added just to indicate the proper
pronunciation in English language. Normally, it should be an accented "c" at
the beginning of the word which stands for a pocket knife.

Hi!

The word cakija hat it's root in the turkish word ÇAKI, what means little
knife. The Ç is pronounced like "ch" in change.
